On 20th December companiions is launching the Christmas Presence campaign to support those facing loneliness and isolation over the festive period, by providing help and companionship in the form of a free one-hour online or in-person visit.

With the rapid spread of Omicron, many families are facing the prospect of being apart this festive season.

Even before Covid, research* suggested half a million older people across the UK expect to feel lonely over the Christmas period and, for over half of those, loneliness has become a ‘normal’ part of life.

Loneliness often goes unspoken about but, unfortunately, it’s all too common. Elderly people living alone often struggle with it, and so do many other people including carers, new parents, those recovering from illness or surgery, and those who have recently moved to a new area.

We want to be there for our loved ones, but often can’t be there in person all the time. Perhaps you live far away, have demanding work and childcare commitments, or need to shield to protect others.

companiions helps to alleviate that Issue by letting you ensure your loved ones have company and help at hand when you can’t be there. From the 20th December to the 3rd January, we want to do our bit to ensure those impacted by loneliness and isolation have someone to support them during the festive period.

Our Founder Lisa says, “We started companiions to help people look after and provide for their loved ones easily, safely, and affordably. Christmas is a time where everyone deserves love, care and companionship. Families provide love and care - we can provide companionship and a little extra help and support. That’s why companiions will be providing a free hour-long visit to anyone who comes forward over the Christmas period, to help support those families separated by Covid. We are offering in-person visits and in-app video calls to ensure that those who are shielding can still access our services.”

To get a free one hour visit for yourself or a loved one, download the companiions app via the App Store, Google Play or www.companiions.com, create an account and profile which includes details around you or your loved one's situation. Once this is completed, email us at contactus@companiions.com and we’ll be in touch with your unique code.

These Program Terms and Conditions are a binding agreement between you and companiions and will govern your participation in any and all this Program offer. By participating in the Program, you agree to the Site Terms and Conditions and the Site Privacy Policy. You are not authorized to participate in the Program, if you do not agree to these Program Terms and Conditions in their entirety. companiions reserves the right to modify these Program Terms and Conditions at any time, at its sole discretion, and without notice to you. companiions may also, in its sole discretion, change, cancel, suspend, or modify any aspect of the Program without notice. companiions also reserves the right to disqualify any customers or prospective customers at any time from participation in the Program. This offer is limited and payments may be suspended when the limitations are reached. This promotion is not available to any employees of companiions. This promotion cannot be used with any other promotion unless otherwise indicated.

2. How it Works & Eligibility 

companiions is a marketplace that brings together people who need a little help with those who are willing to give help. 

• This offer applies to new customers who register after 15th December 2021
• To apply for your unique one-hour free visit code, you must be a registered organizer customer, with a completed profile and Payment Details 
• A one-hour free visit is equal to the average one-hour visit cost of £15.00 
• Any additional costs such as extra hours or companions whose hourly rate is over £15.00 per hour must be paid by the organiser 
• Before scheduling a visit, the organiser must email contactus@companiions.com to inform us of the request 
• Those accepted will be sent a unique code which deducts £15.00 from the visit total 
• This offer applies only to visits completed between 20th December - 3rd January 2021
  

To be eligible for participation in the Program, you must be a registered customer. companiions reserves the right to find ineligible any Participant in the Program at its sole discretion.
